Tingsha

Tingshas are composed of two handmade bell cymbals. Cymbals are made of blended metals, just like that of the singing bowls. The two cymbals of Tingshas are joined together by a leather strap or metal chain. They are sounded by tapping each small cymbal together at the edge for a crystal pure, high pitched bell tone. Its sound is like a summons that brings us here and now. Tingshas are used in meditation, healing, aura and environment cleansing.

The Tingsha tones awaken awareness and stimulate the healing process. Tingshas are also used to clear the energy present in the room. For centuries, Tingshas bells have been used for religious ceremonies in the Himalayan regions. Today Tingsha are used with singing bowls and other instruments for meditation, music and sound healing.

Antique tinghsha are quite rare and expensive. However, Nepali skilled craftsmen of Nepali Handicraft manufacture tingshas that produce excellent sound.
